Welcome Avatar! This is our regular monthly platform update. For more details on the idea & platform roadmap, we recommend you read The Road to the SovSpot Mobility Platform if you haven’t already.
General overview
The end of year seems to be a time when a lot of users decide to start looking for plan B’s and citizenships & residencies.
We did hit the 3k/month visits, and also revenue from ads is starting to increase. Still have to stress that this is just 1 revenue stream from the platform, and it will not be the most important one.
Furthermore, we signed new affiliate deals with a few mobility service providers (insurance, international moving company and bank account service), which will start to add to revenue besides memberships.
Seems like the Google algorithm update and fixing the Russian spammer issue really skyrocketed traffic (January is already up 2x vs December, but that we will discuss in next month’s update).
Attorney listing type update
No real update here yet - still cleaning the database. Also fixed the existing listing issues, and now we are only down to:
Form functionality (already tested and working)
Listing claiming functionality (already tested, just need some additional testing)
Paid plans integration (tbd)
I know, this is taking way too long and I should’ve launched these mfs by now.
Hard deadline for myself for first batch import of at least 200-500 attorneys: Jan 31st. You can call me out publicly if it doesn’t happen.
Platform Analytics - December 2022
Unique page views: 4,265 (-3.16%)
Total sessions: 3,324 (+28%)
Total unique users: 3,027 (+31%)
Organic sessions: 2,198 (+16%)
Social users: 121 (+21%)
Substack sessions: 0 (-%)
User accounts created: 5 (+150%)
Development/Software/Mkt costs: $199 (not including dev time, mainly linkbuilding)
Revenue: $21.74 (+73%)
Interestingly didn’t get to more page impressions, while increasing sessions with around 30%. Ad revenue will start picking up a bit more once that metric increases, still 73% up but very much early stages.
Marketing Stack
As of this month, we are using the following marketing tools to track progress & create content:
Google Analytics + Google Search Console
Moz Pro
Semrush
Ahrefs
Quillbot
Rytr
SEO Surfer
Outscraper
Content created
This is an overview of all the content that has been created last month:
Articles:
As you can see we’ve been focusing mainly on digital nomad visas. These keywords have a LOT more volume, but are also harder to rank for.
So far so good, main increase has come from these words, together with this article about Liberland (which is more of a non-existent program, but apparently many people search for it and SovSpot now ranks for a variety of terms related to Liberland).
Future Rollout Stages
The upcoming rollout stages will be as follows:
v3 - CBD Attorneys (1000+)
v4 - Immigration Attorney listings (30,000+ collected so far)
v5 - Immigration Consultants, Professionals & Agencies (200+)
v6 - Exclusive member content
Introduction of member tiers (pro subscribers on this sub will automatically be on the highest member tier)
Additional roll out of country data (Digital nomad visa data for countries) - started with this overview here, but still need to integrate this on a per country basis
Comments are open, let me know what you think. Any input is welcome.
Also, will be making a special announcement about this decision this week:
See you in the jungle, frens!
