anon? Very good article. It's important to highlight that the CIA-sponsored Condor Plan was a means to install "neoliberalism" in the Cono Sur, Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Brasil. The economic measures of the ten called "Chicago Boys" led by Milton Friedman implemented cold turkey in South America in the 70's left the countries with no social networks and were the kick-off of the era of "globalization."
Thanks Sirena! Yes, the main objective though was to stop communism/Marxism from gaining a foothold. Perón also worked diligently towards that goal and was supposed to meet Nixon but he died in the meantime. The Military Dictatorship was very much not “neoliberal” in the economic sense of the word. There were trade tariffs, capital controls and there was no such thing as a free market. Very much the opposite of what the Chicago boys proposed.
Can I have my debts nationalized please...
Only in Argentina 😂
How I wish this country could finally move on, but sadly, I can't see that happening.
I think we're close. The younger generations are tired of this whole narrative
