Yeah my only guess is that it is to create a carbon credits market (as another trading vehicle) and to have something to show to creditors in the West, saying: see? You can wire us funds now. But still, it could be a lot more hidden if that was the reason, no need to create a law for it
Really appreciate your commentary; thank you. I've run away to Buenos Aires and intend to stay, so I have skin in the game. I'm rather worried about the WEF-licking bit, but it seems to me that when even the most asleep of Argentinians realise that they are coming for their asados and cars, there will be proper resistance (rather than the grumbling and acquiescence of my native England).
Yeah I agree, also the carbon score part almost reads as if they want to create a market for it like how it exists in Europe (being able to trade carbon credits etc). Still I’d prefer to leave that part out all together.
FABULOUS content as usual. You have the best content on Argentina. Especially the politics. Great stuff. Keep up the good work.
Thanks man, it means a lot to hear that 🙏
Bizarre the carbon part! I can’t believe Milei would be on board with that.

Well, hopefully he succeeds! Might have wanted to keep a slight preference for domestic production, though.
